Summary:Ash finds himself in love with Misty and decides to ask Gary for lessons on how to win over girls. Gary surprisingly accepts, but are Gary's intentions truly pure? And does Ash really love misty as much as he says?
AUTHOR NOTES-Ah, well, this is my first Pokémon "longfic." I plan for it to have about 10-15 chapters. And I plan for other ships too, not just this one, but I'm undecided between them. The only one I'm totally sure will be there is Gary/Ash. I wrote the first chapter last night and it was really fun, even though it had few words. I plan to write the next one in a few days. I know some characters will be a bit OOC, but perfect characterization doesn't exist, but okay. If you don't want to hear my blah blah, click cut to read the fic and if you can, comment.

That was going to be a dog's day. Ash knew it. He knew he would laugh at him. Spit on him. Or even slam the door in his face.
He was going to ask Gary Oak for advice.
A few weeks ago, Ash had realized he couldn't stop thinking about the explosive redhead. Ash was normally quite confident, but when he thought about flirting with Misty, it seemed like his will—erm, I mean, courage—was gone.
Then he realized he needed someone to give him love advice. First, he thought of Brock, but then he analyzed and realized that Brock had never had a successful romantic relationship, so he didn't seem that trustworthy. Then he thought of his mother, but I don't know, Ash just didn't want to talk to her about it.
Then Gary came to mind, and Ash immediately saw the perfect person. Gary had fans and had probably already hooked up with several girls. He was confident and arrogant.
Initially, Ash completely rejected this idea because Gary only hurt him, but the more time passed, the more options he ran out of, so he realized it was all he had left.
"Knock"
"Knock"
"Knock"
Three knocks on Professor Oak's house.
Ash looked at floor
and then
“click”
the door opened and there was Gary
This was Ash's lucky day, he was sure of it!
“Well, well, if it isn’t the little loser.”
Ash’s heart raced and he started to get angry.
But he had to hold back because he wanted to at least be civil and not rip out Gary’s organs and sell them on the black market.
“I’m not like that.”
Ash made a serious face and said,
“Today I’m not in the mood for jokes, Gary. I want to talk about something im…important.”
Gary looked a little askance, but then opened the door wide and said,
“Well, that’s it then. You can come in, just be careful not to make a mess of the whole house.”
He smirked.
And Ash huffed and went inside.
The two sat in the living room, sat on the sofa, and started drinking tea.
The spiky-haired boy stared at the black-haired one for a few minutes.
“So, Ash, what is this ‘SERIOUS MATTER’ you came to talk to me about?”
Gary says sarcastically
Ash snorts again
But he won't kill Gary, not today.
"Gary, I... need your help"
Ash says
Gary drinks the tea and says
"For what?"
Ash blushes slightly and scratches the back of his neck
Gary becomes more attentive
"Do you want me to lend you my underwear?"
Gary innocently suggests
Ash spits out the tea
"NO, FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS, WHY WOULD I ASK YOU FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?"
Gary starts laughing and more tea is wasted
Ash sighs and wards off another punch to the face
"Gary, look, I'm liking this... Gary, I found a girl"
Ash says
Gary raises an eyebrow
"And?"
Ash claps his fingers together.
“And I wanted to know if you… um… erm, could you give me a little help, you know? For your childhood friend?”
Gary puts his hand to his face.
“What kind of help, Ash, tell me.”
Ash says,
“Give me some lessons on how to win over a girl, Gary! I’ve never done this in my life.”
Gary’s predictable look suddenly turns to surprise. He never expected Ash to ask for something like that.
But he did ask… but that’s life. Gary knew this would happen sooner or later, but that HE, of all people, would help? NO.
He quickly composed himself and turned his gaze to Ash,
and said,
“We start tomorrow.”
He said it in a somewhat dry tone, but smiling.
Ash raised his head and looked at his rival. He was extremely surprised that Gary had accepted, however strange it might seem.
“SERIOUSLY?”
Gary looked at Ash and said,
“Tomorrow at 3:00 PM, I don’t make up classes, okay? So you better come!”
Ash laughed and said,
“Aah, thank you, Gary. I knew you had a kind side, even if it was tiny!”
Gary looked a little sulky and rolled his eyes.
Ash stayed there for a few more moments and then left. Everything would begin to change tomorrow.
